Kozhikode: RMP senior leader K S Hariharan's misogynistic comment was condemned by party legislator K K Rema

Vadakara MLA K K Rema denounced the statement made by party central committee member Hariharan during the inaugural function of UDF-RMP People's Campaign, denouncing it as uncalled for. Rema firmly rejected Hariharan's remarks concerning CPM leader K K Shailaja and actor Manju Warrier.

"Making misogynistic comments is unacceptable, regardless of who says them. I've always held this stance, and it remains true in this situation. There's no justification for such remarks, and I reject them. Hariharan denouncing the same and tendering an apology within hours is a positive thing,” she said.

Hariharan’s statement, which was made in connection with the controversy over an alleged video of Shailaja who faced election from the Vadakara constituency, taking the names of her and the noted actor, was held 'misogynist' by all. As strong protests erupted in social media, Hariharan tendered an apology on Facebook within hours.

On his Facebook page, he said that friends and mediapersons have alerted him to an unwanted remark made during a speech in Vadakara. He tendered an unconditional apology for the incident.
