Anil Antony lost as he has no bonding with people, didn't get even BJP votes: PC George

Kottayam: BJP leader P C George has lashed out against NDA Pathanamthitta candidate Anil K Antony’s electoral loss in Pathanamthitta. Speaking to mathrubhumi.com, George said that Anil has no connection with the place and thus did not win even the BJP votes.
“This is the biggest push he could get. Nothing more can be done. He lost because he has no connection with the land. The party leadership just handed the constituency to him. He could not garner even the BJP votes. How did Suresh Gopi win in Thrissur? He went and stayed there, formed a relationship with the land and connected with everyone,” P C George said.
“I came to know Anil Antony after coming here. The candidate selection was wrong. If Surendran, Ramesh, Kummanam Rajasekharan or Sreedharan Pillai had contested, BJP would have won there. People don’t know Anil. he doesn’t even know how to make a speech in Malayalam,” he added.
“Kerala Congress (M) candidate in Kottayam Thomas Chazhikadan would have lost twice as many votes as he did. But that didn’t happen because he is a good man. It is their leader who is problematic. There is no chance to succeed as long as Jose K Mani is there. In my opinion, Chazhikadan should join the Joseph group. Mani group should be disbanded. Jose K mani has business in Sri Lanka and I heard even Pinarayi Vijayan has shares in it. Let him go and take care of that,” PC said.
“The impact of the Modi Government at the Centre has diminished. I think this is good because many of our leaders need to realise that the people can defeat them. It is a chance to check shortcomings, correct them and become stronger. If it goes like that, there is no doubt that India will be safe in the hands of the BJP for another 15 years,” P C George opined, adding that Yogi Adityanath was mostly missing from the election campaigning scene in Uttar Pradesh and this is why the BJP suffered a setback there.
