Anil Antony to try 'Suresh Gopi Model' to establish base in Pathanamthitta

Pathanamthitta: BJP leader Anil Antony is reportedly planning to establish his base in Pathanamthitta. The young BJP leader is set for a prolonged stay in the constituency despite facing defeat in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. The BJP national leadership is reportedly satisfied with Anil’s performance in the polls.
Despite entering the poll fray on short notice, Anil, who is the party’s national secretary, managed to garner 234,000 votes in a 60-day campaign—a significant achievement.
The son of Congress veteran A K Antony has announced that he will soon open his camp office in Pathanamthitta town. Through this, Anil intends to help people access various central government schemes.
Anil, a dynamic leader of the BJP, is said to have drawn inspiration from Suresh Gopi, who made history for the BJP in Kerala during the Lok Sabha polls.
Suresh Gopi, an actor, entered the political scene as the saffron party’s star candidate in Kerala during the 2019 parliamentary elections. Despite losing, Suresh Gopi was undeterred and contested in the Kerala assembly elections in 2021, although he did not succeed then either. He eventually won the people's mandate in 2024, overcoming his earlier setbacks.
Anil Antony’s performance in Pathanamthitta, despite a decrease in the vote share, has raised the hopes of the BJP. They aim to replicate their success in Thrissur, this time with A K Antony’s son as the face of their campaign.
