Kerala man cycles his way to Paris to spread message of peace and sustainability

Inspiring millions of people and showcasing his dedication, a Kerala man Faiz Ashraf Ali has pedaled his way to Paris where the Olympics has set its stage.

Faiz (34), who has cycled through 36 countries including Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Austria, Italy, Germany, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, shared his motivation for visiting Paris with DD News. "We are not focusing so much on sports, it is good for health and I am conveying that message."

His remarkable journey, which started on August 15, 2022, aims to promote world peace, healthcare, zero carbon footprint, and anti-drug messages.

During his journey, Faiz has met several sports stars, including Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, and Neeraj Chopra, and plans to meet more in Paris. He has also earned world records, including a recent honor from the British Parliament's World Book of Records, London.

He had earlier embarked on a solo cycle expedition from Thiruvananthapuram to London as part of the "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" celebrations, marking India's 75th independence anniversary. 

He revealed that after the games, he is planning to fly back to India. "This is my final destination, after the Olympics I will fly back to India."

Faiz quit his job at Wipro to pursue his passion for cycling and adventure.
