Russian model and Miss Universe 2017 contestant Kseniya Alexandrova has tragically died at the age of 30, just four months after her wedding. The accident occurred on July 5 in Tver Oblast, Russia, when a wild elk suddenly ran onto the road and collided with the car she and her husband were driving in.

Who Was Kseniya Alexandrova?

Alexandrova rose to fame in 2017 when she represented Russia in the Miss Universe pageant and was named the first runner-up in the Miss Russia competition that same year. Beyond modelling, she held a degree in psychology from Moscow State Pedagogical University, showcasing her intellectual depth alongside her beauty.

What caused the sudden crash?

Alexandrova was reportedly seated in the passenger seat when the elk’s legs pierced through the windshield, violently striking her head. The impact left her unconscious with severe cranial trauma.

“From the moment it jumped out to the impact, a split second passed. I didn't have time to do anything. The elk flew into the car. The blow hit Ksyusha in the head. She was unconscious, her head was broken, everything was covered in blood,” her husband recounted to Rossiyskaya Gazeta

Bystanders and emergency crews responded rapidly, and Alexandrova was rushed to a hospital in Moscow in critical condition. Despite efforts by medical staff, she succumbed to her injuries on August 12, over a month after the collision.

Just months before the accident, Kseniya had married her partner on March 22, sharing a photo from their wedding day on Instagram. What began as a new chapter in her life ended in unspeakable tragedy. Her husband, who survived the crash, now faces life without the woman he had only just begun building a future with.

Her modelling agency, Modus Vivendis, confirmed her death via Instagram on August 13, writing, "It is with great sadness that we inform you that our colleague and friend, model Kseniya Alexandrova, passed away yesterday evening. Kseniya was bright and talented. She knew how to inspire, support, and give warmth to everyone around her. For us, she will forever remain a symbol of beauty, kindness and inner strength.”

The agency extended condolences to her family, friends, and the many who were touched by her presence.
