Washington: Vanessa Trump on Thursday revealed that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer and recently underwent a medical procedure as she begins treatment and recovery.

Sharing the news in an emotional Instagram post, Vanessa wrote: “I want to share a personal health update.”

“I’ve recently been diagnosed with breast cancer,” she said. “While this isn’t news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan.”

Vanessa also disclosed that doctors performed “a procedure earlier this week” and said she is focusing on recovery with support from family and loved ones.

“I am staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids, and those closest to me,” she wrote.

The announcement prompted an outpouring of support online, including from members of the Trump family. Ivanka Trump commented on the post, writing: “Praying for your continued strength and a swift recovery. Love you mama.”

The post was also liked by Tiffany Trump as messages of support poured in from followers and supporters.

Vanessa ended her statement by thanking people for their support and requesting privacy during her treatment.

“Thank you for your kindness and support it truly means more than I can express,” she wrote. “I kindly ask for privacy as I focus on my health and recovery.”

Vanessa was married to Donald Trump Jr. from 2005 until their divorce in 2018. The couple tied the knot on November 12, 2005, at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. Their wedding ceremony was officiated by Trump Jr.’s aunt, Judge Maryanne Trump Barry.

The couple share five children together, including their eldest daughter, Kai Trump, who was born in 2007.

In recent years, Vanessa has largely stayed away from the political spotlight and maintained a relatively private public profile.

She has also recently been linked to Tiger Woods after the two publicly confirmed their relationship earlier this year. Woods had shared a message in March requesting privacy as attention around the couple intensified.
