'Nuclear testing can never be permitted': UN warns against Trump's test remarks

United Nations: The United Nations on Thursday reaffirmed its firm opposition to nuclear testing, stating it is unacceptable "under any circumstances" following US President Donald Trump’s remarks that he would seek to resume the practice.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’s deputy spokesman, Farhan Haq, said in a statement, "The secretary-general has repeatedly asserted that current nuclear risks are already alarmingly high, and all actions that could lead to miscalculation or escalation with catastrophic consequences must be avoided... nuclear testing can never be permitted under any circumstances."
