Tehran: A Sepehran Airlines Boeing 737 domestic flight operating from Mashhad to Kermanshah in north-eastern Iran was forced to execute an emergency landing on Tuesday, 15 September 2026, following a severe technical failure shortly after departure. As reported by Iran’s Mehr News Agency, the flight crew declared an emergency shortly after taking off from Hashemi Nejad International Airport. According to regional news outlets, one of the aircraft's tyres detached during takeoff, triggering a subsequent engine malfunction that compelled the pilots to abort the climb and re-route back to Mashhad.
