Iranian attack in Kuwait leaves one dead, raises regional tensions

Kuwait City: An Iranian attack hit a building owned by a Chinese company in northern Kuwait on Thursday, killing one worker and causing significant structural damage, Kuwait's Defence Ministry said.

The ministry confirmed the incident through its spokesperson, who said the strike targeted the facility and resulted in one fatality. Authorities have not yet released the identity or nationality of the worker who was killed.

According to the Kuwaiti Defence Ministry, the building belonged to a Chinese company operating in northern Kuwait. The attack caused extensive damage to the property, although officials have not disclosed whether additional people were injured.

Emergency teams responded to the site, and authorities are continuing to assess the full extent of the damage.

The development comes amid escalating tensions between Iran and the United States in the Middle East.

Iran has defended its military actions by stating that they are an exercise of its inherent right to self-defence under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter.

Separately, videos circulating online have purported to show rockets being launched from Kuwaiti territory. Reuters reported the strike on the Chinese company building but did not independently verify claims circulating on social media regarding military activity from Kuwait.

The latest strike adds to growing concerns over the widening regional conflict, with several countries monitoring the security situation closely as military exchanges continue across the Middle East.
