Tehran: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned countries allowing US military forces on their soil that they could face a “corresponding response”, accusing them of supporting American operations against Tehran.

The warning came after the IRGC claimed it targeted US military-linked sites in Kuwait and Bahrain, including Camp Arifjan, Ali Al Salem Air Base and Sheikh Isa Air Base. Iran claimed the strikes caused damage to military infrastructure, radar systems and fuel facilities. The claims have not been independently verified.

Kuwait said its air defence systems intercepted incoming missiles and drones, describing the attacks as a violation of its security. Authorities said explosions heard across the country were linked to interception operations.

Bahrain and Kuwait targeted amid widening conflict

Iran claimed that missiles hit US military assets and fuel tanks at Bahrain’s Sheikh Isa Air Base, alleging that the facility had been used for American military operations.

The IRGC also claimed strikes on a US naval fuel support facility at Al Ahmadi Port in Kuwait. Kuwait confirmed it was responding to missile and drone threats but did not immediately provide details on damage or casualties.

The attacks mark a major expansion of the conflict beyond direct US-Iran exchanges, bringing Gulf countries hosting American forces into the confrontation.

US continues strikes on Iranian targets

The United States has carried out multiple nights of strikes against Iranian military targets, according to officials. The campaign has reportedly targeted coastal surveillance systems, air defence networks, logistics facilities and maritime capabilities.

Iranian media reported that some US strikes also damaged infrastructure, including electricity and water facilities near Jask in Hormozgan province. Local officials said desalination systems were affected and efforts were underway to restore water supplies.

US President Donald Trump said the US was “winning big in Iran” and suggested the impact of the military campaign would become clearer in the coming days.

Gulf tensions rise as Strait of Hormuz crisis deepens

The escalation has increased concerns over the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important energy routes. The International Energy Agency (IEA) has warned that prolonged disruption to the waterway could threaten global oil and gas supplies.

The US has tightened restrictions around Iranian maritime activity, while tensions have increased over commercial vessels attempting to pass through the strategic route.

Jordan intercepts Iranian missiles

Jordan said its air defence systems intercepted 10 Iranian missiles that entered its airspace. The military said the action was taken to protect national security and prevent damage, with no casualties reported.

The latest developments indicate the conflict is spreading across the Gulf region, increasing pressure on neighbouring countries to balance security concerns while avoiding direct involvement in the US-Iran confrontation.
