Earthquake of magnitude 5.7 strikes Northern Chile

Santiago: A 5.7-magnitude earthquake struck northern Chile on Thursday, according to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ).

The tremor occurred at a depth of 178 kilometres (110.6 miles), the GFZ reported.
