'What kind of madness is this?' Brazilian model reacts to alleged misuse of her photo in Haryana Elections | WATCH

New Delhi: Brazilian model Larissa has expressed surprise after learning that her photograph was reportedly used multiple times in Haryana’s voter list for the 2024 Assembly elections. The claim was raised by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who has alleged large-scale voter fraud in the state.
In a video shared on X, Larissa spoke about her shock and disbelief. She said:
"Folks, let me tell you the gossip. You laugh too much, don't you? My photo is old. I was very young in it, around 18 or 20 years old."
She added that her photograph was being presented as that of an Indian woman in what she described as a scam, "Look how crazy. What kind of madness is this? What world are we living in?"
Larissa also explained how she was contacted by reporters and strangers regarding the matter, "Then a reporter called me wanting to know about this thing. They even called the salon where I work. I didn’t answer and told my people not to share my number. The guy found my Instagram, called me on Instagram. Now, another person who has nothing to do with the subject, a friend of mine from another city, sends me a photo. I'm going to put it here for you guys below so you can see it here. You won't believe it. Oh, folks."
The incident comes amid Rahul Gandhi’s ongoing “vote chori” allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Election Commission in Haryana. Gandhi claimed that 25 lakh votes were manipulated in the state and highlighted the example of Larissa’s photograph, which reportedly appeared 22 times under different names, including Sweety, Seema, and Saraswati, in the voter records.
Gandhi shared Larissa’s photo during the press meet with the caption “Who is she?”, which quickly went viral and sparked debates over voter registration and election transparency in Haryana.
