Kuwait fire tragedy: Stephin Abraham finally enters his new Pampady house, last rites conducted

Pampady: Stephin, who had planned to return home from Kuwait next month with dreams of a new house here, arrived a month earlier but was welcomed with tears of relatives and locals. Villagers bid a tearful farewell to Stephin Abraham Sabu (29) for the last time.
Stephin, who lost his life in the tragic Kuwait fire accident, was brought to his Pampady house on Monday morning from Mandiram Hospital mortuary. His body was brought to his newly built Pampady house near M.G.M. school. Following prayers, his body was placed for public homage in Simhasana Palli Auditorium.
Hundreds of people from different parts of the country, including political, social, and religious leaders, came to pay their last respects to Stephin. K.J. Abraham, Managing Director of NBTC company where Stephin worked, also came to Pampady and paid his last respects.
The funeral services started around 1:30 pm. His body was then buried at IPC Bethel Church’s 9th-mile cemetery in Pampady.
As a mark of respect to Stephin, shops were closed in Pampady on Monday.
