Malayali doctor from Kannur found dead in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: Dr Arayakandy Dhanalakshmi (54), a native of Talap in Kannur, was found dead at her residence in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi, on Monday night. Her friends, concerned by her not responding to phone calls over the past two days, went to check and found about her death.

Dr. Dhanalakshmi was a dental surgeon at Abu Dhabi Life Care Hospital and had been a resident of the UAE for over a decade. She was also an active member of the Abu Dhabi Malayalee Samajam and known as a cultural activist and writer. She was also an active person on social media.

Dr. Dhanalakshmi had earlier served at the Kannur Dhanalakshmi Hospital. She is daughter of late Narayanan, owner of Anandakrishna Bus Service, and Chandramathi. Her husband, Sujith, currently resides in Kerala. She is survived by her siblings: Ananda Krishnan, Shivaram, and Dr. Seethalakshmi.
