Dubai Police find Thrissur engineer accidentally electrocuted in bathroom, probe to find cause

Dubai: The police report on the mysterious death of a Thrissur native in Al Twar Centre-3 confirmed that she died of electrocution.
Neethu Ganesh (35), an engineer hailing from Ayanthole, was found dead in the bathroom of her villa on June 14. Police reports indicate that she died due to electrocution while bathing under a shower. The officials also ruled out foul play in the case.
Meanwhile, police would continue the investigation to verify whether the building and nearby premises have compromised safety standards. At the time of the incident, Neethu's husband Vishak Gopi, a Kollam native, their 6-year-old child Niveesh Krishna and their housemaid were present in the house.
The family told the police that there were electricity cuts on the day due to the maintenance work in the area. Neethu, who was working from home, went to bathe at 7:15 am. She had taken an emergency lamp due to the power outage. Meanwhile, the housemaid also experienced shock while working in the kitchen. Around the same time, the family heard a scream from the bathroom. Later, Vishak broke through the bathroom door to find Neethu in an unconscious state. Though she was rushed to the hospital, she succumbed.
