Ailing Kozhikode woman flown home from Bahrain for further treatment

Manama: Zeenath Cholakkal, a native of Kozhikode who was undergoing treatment in Bahrain, has safely departed for Kochi. As Zeenath, who was being treated at Salmaniya Medical Complex, needed to return home for further treatment, the Bahrain chapter of the Pravasi Legal Cell and the Kozhikode District Pravasi Forum intervened to make the necessary arrangements.

Considering Zeenath’s financial and health circumstances, the Indian Embassy in Bahrain provided her with a free air ticket to return to India. The Pravasi Legal Cell expressed gratitude to the Indian Embassy for its humanitarian assistance and timely intervention.

Pravasi Legal Cell Bahrain chapter president Sudheer Thirunilath coordinated with the concerned authorities and led the arrangements. Kozhikode District Pravasi Forum general secretary Arun Prakash also assisted with the travel arrangements.

Zeenath has safely departed from Bahrain for Kochi. Arrangements have also been made to take her to Kozhikode by ambulance after she reaches Kochi.

The Pravasi Legal Cell expressed special thanks to Unni and his family for accompanying Zeenath during the journey and providing the necessary assistance. It also thanked the Indian Embassy in Bahrain, Salmaniya Medical Complex authorities, IndiGo Bahrain, Riyas and the staff at Bahrain airport for their cooperation in facilitating the journey.

Office-bearers said the Pravasi Legal Cell would continue to actively intervene and extend support to expatriates in distress whenever necessary.
