Why BMW India is hiking prices by up to 3 per cent from September 1?

New Delhi: BMW Group India announced a price increase of up to 3 per cent across its entire model range, effective from September 1, 2025. The company cited ongoing challenges such as foreign exchange fluctuations and global supply chain dynamics, which have led to rising material and logistics costs, as the primary reasons for this revision. However, BMW has not disclosed which specific models will see the highest price hikes.
Vikram Pawah, President and CEO of BMW Group India, highlighted the company’s remarkable growth and strong sales momentum during the first half of the year, despite these cost pressures. He also mentioned that several new high-performance models will be introduced during the upcoming festive season, reinforcing BMW’s commitment to delivering exceptional value and innovation to customers.
The domestically produced BMW models include the 2 Series Gran Coupe, 3 Series Long Wheelbase, 5 Series Long Wheelbase, 7 Series, X1, X3, X5, X7, M340i, and the iX1 Long Wheelbase. Additionally, BMW India Financial Services offers tailored financing options such as attractive monthly instalments, reduced interest rates for select models, assured buy-back options, and flexible end-of-term choices.
BMW Group India has been performing strongly in the premium automobile segment, selling 7,774 BMW and MINI cars from January to June 2025, marking the highest-ever deliveries in the first half of the year with a 10 per cent increase year-on-year. Notably, the group has maintained its leadership in the luxury electric vehicle (EV) sector in India, with sales of 1,322 EVs in the same period—a 234 per cent surge compared to the previous year. EVs now constitute 18 per cent of BMW’s total Indian car sales.
This price revision comes amid sustained demand for BMW’s luxury vehicles, including their growing electric vehicle lineup, with models such as the BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase leading sales, followed by the flagship BMW i7. BMW continues to expand its premium segment presence in India with a keen focus on electric mobility and customer experience enhancements.
