New Delhi: The much-awaited Union Budget 2025 is being presented on Saturday, and passengers of the Indian Railways are voicing their expectations from Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman

Vipin Maheshwari, a passenger, emphasised, "The Budget should be in favour of the public; otherwise, it makes no sense to us. We need the benefits to reach common people. Inflation must be controlled."

Passengers hope for tangible changes that benefit the general public, particularly in relation to train travel. One commuter shared, "Some change is really hoped for—just like in previous years. Travel benefits should be made more accessible for the common people."

At Chennai Central Railway Station, passengers echoed similar sentiments, calling for relief from the increasing cost of living. A passenger remarked, "The common man should be benefitted. The cost of living is increasing, and we hope that the government will take steps to ease the burden."

Madhavan from Coimbatore expressed his concerns regarding rising inflation and the increasing tax burden, while highlighting the need for improved safety measures. “As a frequent train traveller, safety concerns such as insurance and accident coverage are crucial. I expect the government to address these issues in this Budget,” he said.
