Amid raging Middle East tensions, check petrol and diesel rates in India on March 2, 2026
Despite the ensuing conflict in the Middle East, petrol and diesel prices across India showed modest movement on Tuesday, with Mumbai witnessing a marginal dip in petrol rates while diesel remained unchanged.
In Mumbai, petrol is now retailing at ₹103.50 per litre, down by 4 paise from the previous day. Over the past ten days, prices in the financial capital have hovered within a narrow band between ₹103.50 and ₹103.54, indicating relative stability despite minor daily adjustments. Diesel in Mumbai continues to be priced at ₹90.03 per litre, with no revision recorded.
Among the major metropolitan centres, petrol in New Delhi stands at ₹94.77 per litre, while Kolkata and Chennai are retailing the fuel at ₹105.41 and ₹100.80 respectively. Hyderabad continues to record one of the highest petrol prices among state capitals at ₹107.50 per litre. Meanwhile, Jaipur saw a notable increase of 75 paise, taking the price to ₹105.13.
Diesel prices have largely remained steady across most cities. In the national capital, diesel is priced at ₹87.67 per litre, while Kolkata and Chennai are retailing it at ₹92.02 and ₹92.39 respectively. Daily revisions of fuel prices have been in effect nationwide since June 15, 2017.
