A notable Rs 3,821 crore has also been earmarked for scholarships, with a focus on Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and minority students, ensuring greater access to education.

Focus on higher education, centres of excellence

Further reinforcing its commitment to higher education, the budget includes Rs 69 crore for the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) and Rs 62 crore for Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) and funds for other major universities as well.
