IndiGo has started direct flights between Kolkata and Siem Reap, becoming the first Indian carrier to offer a non-stop connection to Cambodia. The new service will operate three times a week using Airbus A320neo aircraft.

With this launch, Siem Reap becomes IndiGo’s 46th international and 140th overall destination, further expanding the airline’s growing network across Asia. The new route strengthens IndiGo’s international presence, linking India with more destinations across the ASEAN region.

Commenting on the launch, Pieter Elbers, Chief Executive Officer of IndiGo, said, “We are glad to launch our inaugural flight to Siem Reap, which not only expands our network across Southeast Asia but also enhances global connectivity from our Kolkata hub. This new service is India’s first direct air link to Cambodia operated by an Indian carrier, and we believe it will play a vital role in fostering deeper ties between India and the ASEAN region. As we continue to build bridges across Asia’s dynamic economies and cultural destinations, this new route reflects IndiGo’s commitment to connecting people, cultures, and opportunities.”

Known as the gateway to the world-famous Angkor Wat temples, Siem Reap is Cambodia’s second-largest city and a major cultural and tourism centre. The new route is expected to attract more Indian tourists, especially as Cambodia offers Visa on Arrival and e-Visa facilities for Indian travellers.

Travel experts say IndiGo’s latest expansion will make it easier for tourists and business travellers to explore one of Southeast Asia’s most popular destinations, while also helping to strengthen cultural and economic connections between India and Cambodia.
