In India, fuel prices are adjusted by state-run oil companies such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum, in line with global market trends.
When international crude oil prices rise, petrol rates in the country also move up. Conversely, a dip in global crude prices usually leads to a reduction in the daily petrol prices here.
