Petrol prices in India have remained steady for several months now. In Mumbai, petrol is priced at ₹103.50 per litre, unchanged from yesterday. Rates across major cities show minor variations: Delhi ₹94.77, Kolkata ₹105.41, Chennai ₹100.80, Hyderabad ₹107.46, and Thiruvananthapuram ₹107.48 per litre. Slight increases were seen in Bhubaneswar (+₹0.32), Jaipur (+₹0.03), and Patna (+₹0.37). The stability in prices reflects India’s policy despite fluctuations in global crude oil markets. High petrol rates compared to neighbouring countries are mainly due to substantial domestic taxes and currency exchange impacts.

Diesel Price

Diesel prices in India have remained unchanged for ten consecutive months, stable since 1 December 2024. In Mumbai, diesel costs ₹90.03 per litre, with no variation from yesterday. Across major cities, prices include Delhi ₹87.67, Kolkata ₹92.02, Chennai ₹92.39, Hyderabad ₹95.70, and Thiruvananthapuram ₹96.48 per litre. Minor increases were seen in Bhubaneswar (+₹0.32), Jaipur (+₹0.03), and Patna (+₹0.34). Since 15 June 2017, India revises diesel rates daily instead of biweekly, helping reflect real-time market changes and easing the financial impact on consumers. Price stability continues despite global crude oil fluctuations and varying state tax structures.

LPG Price

While the domestic LPG (14.2 kg) price in India (Mumbai) stands at ₹852.50, the rates in other cities remain stable.
