Fuel Price Today (Nov 12, 2025): Check latest petrol, diesel and LPG rates in Kozhikode, Chennai, Mumbai and other Indian cities

Fuel prices across major Indian cities continue to remain largely unchanged, extending an 11-month period of stability that began on 1 December 2024. In Mumbai, petrol today stands at ₹103.50 per litre, while diesel is priced at ₹90.03 per litre — both recording no change compared to yesterday’s rates.
Despite international oil prices showing volatility in recent months, domestic rates have been kept steady through calibrated adjustments in taxation and supply mechanisms.
Petrol Price Overview
In the metro cities, petrol prices remain consistent:
- New Delhi: ₹94.77
- Kolkata: ₹105.41
- Mumbai: ₹103.50
- Chennai: ₹100.90
Among other major urban centres, Gurgaon recorded a minor rise of ₹0.15, while Noida saw a marginal increase of ₹0.25. Conversely, Bhubaneswar registered a slight decline of ₹0.05, and Patna recorded a sharper drop of ₹0.35 per litre.
In Kozhikode, petrol is priced at ₹105.78 per litre, marking a small decrease from ₹106.22 the previous day. Over the past ten days, fuel prices in the Kerala city have fluctuated within a narrow band of ₹105.78 to ₹106.22, suggesting minor market corrections at the local level.
According to analysts, India’s retail fuel prices are shaped by a combination of international crude oil rates, domestic tax structures, and the rupee’s exchange value against the US dollar.
LPG Prices Remain Stable
The domestic LPG (14.2 kg cylinder) price in Mumbai remains at ₹852.50, with no change recorded since April 2025. Over the past year, LPG rates have witnessed a cumulative rise of ₹50 — with the most significant adjustment made in April this year.
The extended period of stability in LPG prices brings some relief to households, particularly as the winter season begins in northern states. However, experts note that any sustained rise in international LPG contract prices could prompt future adjustments in domestic rates.
Diesel Prices
Diesel, a critical component for the transport and agricultural sectors, continues to be priced steadily across major Indian cities. In Mumbai, diesel costs ₹90.03 per litre, unchanged from the previous day.
The national price trend is as follows:
- New Delhi: ₹87.67
- Kolkata: ₹92.02
- Chennai: ₹92.49
- Gurgaon: ₹88.10 (+₹0.13)
- Noida: ₹88.29 (+₹0.28)
- Patna: ₹91.49 (−₹0.32)
- Thiruvananthapuram: ₹96.48
In Kozhikode, diesel prices have also shown a minor reduction, standing at ₹94.78 per litre, down from ₹95.20 yesterday. Over the past ten days, prices in the region have fluctuated between ₹94.78 and ₹95.20 per litre.
Since June 2017, India has adopted a daily revision system for petrol and diesel prices, replacing the earlier fortnightly review. This system allows fuel retailers to align local prices more closely with global crude price movements and currency changes.
India’s retail fuel prices are among the highest in Asia, primarily due to substantial excise duties and state-level levies.
Economists suggest that the extended price freeze could be linked to the government’s efforts to maintain inflation control and ensure fiscal stability in the run-up to the next financial year. Stable fuel rates also help cushion the logistics sector and prevent cascading effects on essential commodity prices.
Consumer Outlook
While consumers welcome the continued price stability, industry experts caution that any sustained rise in global oil benchmarks or a depreciation of the rupee could lead to a future upward revision. For now, however, motorists and households can expect another day — and likely another month — of steady prices at the pump and the kitchen. (With inputs from Agencies)
