Ferrari's first new supercar in more than a decade, the F80, has already been sold despite a base price of $3.9 million (Rs 32.37 crore). The limited-edition model brings together the Italian carmaker's latest technological innovations, drawing inspiration from endurance racing and Formula 1.

Even before its official launch, the F80’s entire production run of 799 units was sold out. Despite the steep price tag, Ferrari enthusiasts and collectors moved quickly to secure the limited-edition supercar.

F80: A Blend of Power and Technology

The F80 is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine, paired with a hybrid system that generates an astounding 1,200 horsepower. It features advanced technologies, including racing brake pads, ultralight 3D-printed components, and active suspension systems, making it a "showcase for the ultimate in technology and performance," according to Ferrari.

The engine, based on Ferrari’s success in the World Endurance Championship, incorporates Formula 1 technologies, pushing the supercar to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.15 seconds. The F80 can reach a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph).

Design and Features Inspired by Motorsport

The F80 features a combination of Ferrari’s top engineering and design capabilities. It comes with an all-wheel-drive powertrain that integrates a turbocharged V6 engine capable of producing 888 horsepower at 9,200 RPM.

The hybrid system includes two electric motors on the front axle and one placed between the engine and an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Ferrari Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer Enrico Galliera described the F80 as "the car that raises the bar of our range" and expressed hopes that it would "make history in the coming years."

Limited-Edition supercar with rich legacy

Ferrari supercars are released only once every decade, and each model is known for its innovative features and high performance. The F80 follows in the footsteps of iconic models like the 2013 LaFerrari and the original GTO, which debuted 40 years ago.

While the F80 is a new model, it continues Ferrari's tradition of integrating motorsport technologies into road cars. The hybrid engine is rooted in the company’s victorious runs at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, demonstrating the brand's commitment to pushing technological boundaries.

Ferrari's so-called supercars represent the pinnacle of the brand's engineering and performance. With the F80, Ferrari has once again proven its ability to create exclusive, high-performance vehicles that captivate the global automotive community.
