No more office hopping! EPFO’s new system lets employees solve PF issues anywhere

Ahmedabad: In a move aimed at directly benefiting crores of employees, the Union government has announced a series of EPFO reforms that promise faster service, easier access, and better protection of workers’ provident fund savings.
Union Labour and Employment Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya on Friday announced EPFO offices across the country are being redesigned as single-window service centres, similar to Passport Seva Kendras. Once rolled out nationwide, employees will be able to resolve any PF-related issue at any EPFO office, eliminating the need to visit a specific regional office linked to their job history.
A pilot project is already underway in Delhi.
Key employee benefits: Faster claims, KYC updates, and overseas protection
To help workers, especially first-time and digitally inexperienced users, the government will introduce EPF Suvidha Providers, authorised facilitators who will guide employees in claim filing, KYC updates, and resolving issues.
EPFO will also launch mission-mode KYC verification and a new digital platform to unlock funds in inoperative accounts and ensure hassle-free settlements. Additionally, upcoming Free Trade Agreements will protect PF contributions of Indians working abroad, allowing them to access benefits after returning to India.
Highlighting security, Mandaviya said EPFO manages ₹28 lakh crore with 8.25% annual interest, guaranteed by the government, and social security coverage has expanded to 94 crore people, aiming to reach 100 crore by March 2026.
The announcements were made during the inauguration of the new Bhavishya Nidhi Bhawan, EPFO Regional Office, Vatva, Gujarat.
