EPFO clarifies missing EPF passbook entries for September–October 2025

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has issued a clarification after thousands of EPF subscribers reported that their EPF passbooks were not showing contribution entries for September and October 2025. According to the organisation, the missing data is the result of an ongoing ledger system upgrade and will be visible soon.
In an official notice on its website, the EPFO stated that its Electronic Challan-cum-Return (ECR) ledger posting system is currently being revamped to improve accuracy and speed. Because of this backend overhaul, the posting of contribution details for the two wage months has been delayed. The organisation assured members that the entries will reflect “in a couple of days.”
How to check your EPF passbook after the update
Once the ledger upgrade is completed, the missing entries for September and October 2025 will automatically appear. Members can follow these steps to view their updated passbook:
Visit the UAN Member e-Sewa portal
Log in using your UAN, password, and OTP
Click on Passbook Lite
View or download your updated contribution details
No additional steps are needed — the system will auto-populate the delayed entries once the upgrade is finalised.
EPFO rolls out new digital services during overhaul
Even as the ledger system undergoes maintenance, the EPFO has introduced several new digital features to simplify access for members and pensioners:
1. Digital Life Certificate (Jeevan Pramaan) via facial authentication
Pensioners can now submit their Digital Life Certificate from home using facial recognition technology, eliminating the need to visit banks or EPFO offices.
2. Online profile modification requests
A new feature on the Unified Portal allows both employers and members to raise profile modification requests directly online, streamlining corrections to personal details.
3. Passbook Lite feature introduced
The EPFO has rolled out Passbook Lite, a simplified dashboard that gives users a quick overview of their contributions, withdrawals, and current EPF balance without navigating to the full passbook page.
It is accessible through the UAN Member e-Sewa portal after login.
