Air India launches senior citizen discounts on domestic and international flights
Good news for senior citizens! Air India has announced special discounts and benefits for senior citizens aged 60 and above. The initiative covers both domestic and international flights, offering reduced fares, flexible booking options, and additional baggage allowances.
For international journeys, senior citizens can now avail up to 10% flat discount on the base fare across all cabins, Economy, Premium Economy, Business, and First Class.
In addition to lower fares, passengers will also receive one free date change (fare difference to be paid, if applicable) and an extra baggage allowance of 10 kg or one additional piece per passenger.
To maximise savings, Air India recommends selecting the 'Concession Type' as Senior Citizen while booking. Travellers making payments through UPI can get up to Rs 2,000 additional discount per ticket by applying the promo code UPIPROMO on the airline's website or mobile app.
Within India, the scheme is even more generous. Senior citizens can avail up to 25% discount on the base ticket price for all domestic flights. By selecting their category under 'Concession Type' during booking, passengers can unlock these benefits.
Like international bookings, those paying via UPI will also get extra savings, a minimum of INR 200 off per passenger by applying the UPIPROMO code during checkout.
To avail the scheme, passengers must provide a valid photo ID with date of birth mentioned for verification. Tickets must be booked directly through:
