Thrissur: 'Two-year-old Golden Retriever, weighing 25 kg, received all age-appropriate vaccines. Looking for a suitable partner.' This is the advertisement that one can expect on the matrimony website which was recently launched to find suitable partners for pets. 

The website, called 'Vetigo', is designed to help pet owners find the ideal mates for their pets for breeding purposes. This innovative project has been launched as a part of the Student Innovative Project of the Veterinary University. Abin Joy who is pursuing a B.V.Sc in the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Mannuthy is behind this innovative idea.

The project has received Rs. 1.5 lakh in the first phase, including support from the state government's Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC). K-DISC is a government advisory body that aims to find solutions to real-life problems by encouraging innovation formation. 

The first phase of the project included acquiring the website domain and launching it. The web creation process is ongoing and the registrations have already begun. The website provides details such as breed, sex, age, weight, vaccination information, owner details and also allows pet owners to add a Kennel Club of India number if they have it. Applications have been sent to seek funds for the second phase of the project. Users can go through the website by login in to - https://vet-igo.in/.

Abin Joy is a resident of Puthussery House in Malayathur. He is hoping to turn this pet matrimony project into a start-up. Currently, he is completing his internship under the guidance of Dr. Deepa Anand, Head of the University's Technology Business Incubation Center and Nutrition department, and Asst. Professor K.S. Ajitha from the Department of Nutrition.
