VP Sanu slams Justice Devan Ramachandran, says he works for union govt

Thiruvananthapuram: SFI national president VP Sanu on Tuesday lashed out at Kerala High Court Judge Justice Devan Ramachandran saying the latter is working in submission to the union government like some of the former Supreme Court judges. He said it was evident from the recent judgements of Justice Devan Ramachandran. He was talking to Mathrubhumi News in the backdrop of the division bench nullifying the single bench order on appointment of Priya Varghese.

Whether this is to receive laurels or positions will only be apparent once he retires. His verdicts in all education-related cases were overturned by the division bench, Sanu said.

Adhering to the union government’s opinions in hopes of gaining prominent positions post retirement is a degradation of the judiciary, Sanu said. Both Justice Devan Ramachandran and Governor Arif Mohammed Khan share anti-leftist anti-Kerala government views. This often translates into antagonism against the people of Kerala, the SFI leader added.

Sanu also contended that the former principal of Kattakada Christian College, a leader of the Congress teachers' union, was involved in the row of nominating a different representative for the university election.
