Vellappally Natesan swindled Rs 1600 crore from SNDP, alleges T. P. Senkumar

Thiruvananthapuram: Former DGP T. P. Senkumar alleged that Vellappally Natesan swindled a whopping Rs 1600 crore from Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam. Senkumar sought an investigation into the matter by the Enforcement directorate and Revenue Intelligence.

“There must be an investigation into the number of postings, admissions and the money received from such activities. Rs 1600 crore in that regard is missing, Senkumar said while addressing a press meet here.

Senkumar alleged that SNDP has become an organisation that considers money as the most important thing. SNDP uses money received from micro-financing for buying gold or is lent to other people for exorbitant rates of interest, he said.

Senkumar alleged that one family and their relatives are heading SNDP. “They are changing the organisation’s rules for personal gains and to cling on to power. Elections inside the organisation are not being held in a democratic manner. Around 1000 SNDP branches are fake,” alleged the former DGP.

“Voters are elected from each branch at a ratio of one representative for 200 members. Vellappally dismisses unions that does not support him and brings in administrative rule. Then he would create a list of representatives to suit his needs. Unions where this tactic does not work are divided. Moreover, fake cases are registered against all those who oppose Vellappally,” Senkumar alleged.

The former DGP said that Vellappally and family must step down from power at SNDP for a short while and administrative rule under a credible retired judge must be brought in.

“All the representatives must be validated under this administration and they should be provided with identity cards. Following this, a free and fair election should be held. If Vellappally can win such an election, we will approve Vellappally’s administration,” Senkumar added.

The former DGP wanted to stop the practice of taking donation for admission of children from the community in schools managed by SNDP. Admissions and appointments should be based on merit, he added.
