Vande Bharat, Rajdhani trains in Kerala face stone-pelting on Monday, window glass shattered

Kozhikode: Instances of stone pelting on trains continue to rise in Kerala as both the Vande Bharat Express and the Rajdhani Express were targeted in separate incidents. Vande Bharat faced stone pelting between Tanur and Parapanangadi, while the Rajdhani Express encountered a similar attack at Kanhangad.
Around 3.40 pm, the Rajdhani Express en route to Thiruvananthapuram was struck by stone, shattering a window in one of the coaches. Fortunately, there were no injuries. The incident occurred between Kanhangad railway station and Kushal Nagar railway gate.
Over the past few days, there has been a noticeable escalation in stone-pelting incidents involving various trains within the state. A Special Investigation Team is currently probing the stone-pelting incident on Wednesday.
Earlier, an individual from Odisha was apprehended in connection with a separate train stone pelting occurrence. The suspect, identified as Odisha native Sarbeshwar Parida (25), was apprehended by a team led by Kannur Assistant Commissioner of Police Ratnakumar. On the night of August 14, he targeted the AC compartments of the Thiruvananthapuram-Netravati Express and the Mangaluru-Chennai Superfast Express, allegedly under the influence of alcohol.
