UDF worker injured in poll day clash: M.K Muneer alleges conspiracy between doctors and police

Kozhikode: Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) leader M.K Muneer said that a complaint will be filed with the DGP in connection with the assault on UDF workers in Perambra. Lijas, who was beaten on polling day in Perambra sustained a fractured shoulder. However, the doctors who examined him, misused the health system for their political interest, Muneer said.
The police had arrested even those undergoing treatment in the hospital in connection with the clash between UDF and LDF workers in Perambra on April 26. Lijas, who was arrested while undergoing treatment, was released on bail after 18 days. In the medical examination conducted after his release, it was found that Lijas had fractured his shoulder. However, the examination conducted by the police at the medical college hospital stated that there was nothing wrong with him, Muneer said.
“Do doctors in the Kozhikode medical college not know how to look at X-rays? Or was it concealed under pressure from the police and the LDF? He asked.
Alleging conspiracy between the doctors and the police, Muneer said that he has complained to the police and the human rights commission in this regard. Lijas said that when he told the doctors that he was in excruciating pain, they said there was nothing wrong and that he just needed to rest for three weeks.
