Technopark's strategic growth: New IT hubs and job creation underway in Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram: The city’s IT landscape is on the brink of a significant transformation, with large-scale developments progressing across Technopark Phases I, III and IV. The expansion is projected to create at least 50,000 new jobs through the upcoming IT infrastructure.
Technopark CEO Sanjeev Nair described the new facilities as a “game-changer” for the region’s technology ecosystem. “Presently, we are focusing on optimal utilisation of available land parcels and completion of ongoing infrastructure projects at Phases I, III and IV. Once these reach full utilisation, additional expansion will be considered based on feasibility studies, demand assessment and availability of encumbrance-free land, in accordance with statutory guidelines,” as told to The Times of India.
In Phase I, Brigade Group’s first IT tower in Technopark, Brigade Square (1.85 lakh sq ft), is nearing completion and expected to become operational within the next few months. Construction of the World Trade Centre by Brigade, featuring nearly 1.5 million sq ft of built-up space, is also set to begin soon. Another building, Kallayi (50,000 sq ft), is ready for inauguration, while Chaliyar, a prefabricated 50,000 sq ft structure designed as a Global Capability Centre (GCC) hub, is scheduled for completion by December 2025. It will function as a co-working and managed office space under the ‘GCC Boilerplate’ model to enable rapid GCC entry into the city.
Caspian Techparks India Pvt Ltd, a co-developer, is also planning a 1 lakh sq ft IT building, currently in the design phase, on 81.42 cents of land within the Phase I campus.
In Phase III, Taurus Investment Holdings India will launch the second phase of its Taurus Downtown Trivandrum project early next year. The first phase, Niagara Building (1.5 million sq ft), is fully occupied by Fortune 500 firms, GCCs and other enterprises. The area’s ecosystem is being further enhanced by the Global Public School, which has begun admissions for the June 2026 academic session at its new Phase III campus.
In Phase IV, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is developing a 1.2 million sq ft campus expected to be completed by January 2026. Construction of the first IT tower under the Quad Project is also expected to commence shortly. Sources close to Technopark revealed that several Expressions of Interest (EoIs) have been received for leasing land in Phases III and IV.
Over the past six years, Kerala has added 46.47 lakh sq ft of new IT space—20.97 lakh sq ft in Technopark, 22.62 lakh sq ft in Infopark and 2.88 lakh sq ft in Cyberpark. During the same period, 45,869 new jobs were created across the state’s IT parks, including 15,000 in Technopark, 29,700 in Infopark and 1,169 in Cyberpark.
