Thrissur tragedy: Mother, two children attempt suicide weeks after father's death; 6-year-old dies

Thrissur, Kerala: A devastating incident has shaken Thrissur after a mother and her two young children allegedly attempted mass suicide, just two weeks after the death of the family’s father.

According to police reports, 34-year-old Shailaja and her children, Akshay (4) and Anima (6), were found in critical condition following the attempt. Despite efforts to save her, six-year-old Anima succumbed to her injuries. Shailaja and Akshay are currently undergoing treatment in hospital, where their condition remains serious.

The tragedy comes only a fortnight after the death of Shailaja’s husband, Pradeep. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
