Kannur: Local residents fumed with rage when police brought Saranya, the mother who killed her son at Thayyil, the beach for evidence collection on Wednesday. Police are likely to present her before the court in the evening.

Kannur City Circle Inspector (CI) P. R. Satheesh claims that Saranya alone committed the murder and that she did not receive any help from husband Pranav or her boyfriend.

“She brought insult to our land. She has hurt all of us mothers. We will kill her at the same spot where she murdered her child. This is a pledge taken by the people of the land” screamed one of the women while Saranya was brought to Thayyil for evidence collection. Meanwhile, another woman said that women like Saranya must be beaten to death by women themselves. What kind of a woman is she? The woman questioned.

Police struggled to bring Saranya out of the police station and collect evidence from her house and the beach area. As soon as Saranya was taken out of the station, the public who gathered at the spot showered insult and curses at her. A lot of them arrived at the spot carrying their babies.

First Saranya was taken to the bedroom at her house and the residents broke into tears. Later, Saranya was taken to the murder spot. While moving to the police vehicles after evidence collection, some of the local residents tried to attack her. Most of the people who turned up in protest were women.
