Kottayam: PO Sathiamma, a temporary staff at Kaithepalam veterinary hospital, reportedly faced termination from work due to her support for Chandy Oommen on television, prior to the Puthuppally by-election.

Sathiamma had been working at the hospital for the past four years. Chandy Ommenn had arrived in Kaithepalam on Monday as part of the UDF campaign for the Puthuppally bypoll. On the occasion, Sathiamma had recollected the good deeds of former Kerala CM Oommen Chandy in front of the media. She had openly declared her support for Chandy Oommen as well.

However, strangely, she was dismissed from work after the incident. Her husband told Mathrubhumi News that Sathiamma was dismissed without any briefing, he alleged foul play in the incident, and said that she was targeted for declaring her support for Congress. Her husband also reminded that the family was relying on his wife’s income to make ends meet.

The Animal Protection Department is yet to respond on the issue.
