Sunny Joseph takes over as KPCC chief; Satheesan vows over 100 seats for UDF in next polls

Thiruvananthapuram: Advocate Sunny Joseph officially took over as the new President of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) on Monday, in a ceremony held at Indira Bhavan, the party’s state headquarters.
The event was attended by key Congress leaders, including Opposition Leader VD Satheesan, AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal, and outgoing KPCC President K. Sudhakaran.
Describing Sunny Joseph as "soft-spoken but firm in his ideals," Venugopal praised his leadership qualities and long-standing commitment to the party. Alongside him, MLA PC Vishnunath, MP Shafi Parambil, and MLA AP Anil Kumar assumed duties as working presidents, while MP Adoor Prakash took charge as the new UDF convener.
In his farewell speech, Sudhakaran reflected on his tenure and achievements. He expressed confidence that his long-time political ally, Sunny Joseph, would lead the Congress with renewed strength. He described the new team as the "boiling blood" of the party and a sign of youthful energy in Kerala politics.
VD Satheesan calling for unity and a focused approach to the upcoming elections said that they would take full responsibilty with the newly formed leadership and would move forward together with one goal of winning. He firmly stated that he is confident that the UDF would win more than 100 seats in the next elections.
