Voting begins; M B Rajesh to become speaker of Kerala Assembly

Thiruvananthapuram: The election to the post of Speaker of the Kerala Legislative Assembly commenced here on Tuesday. The LDF candidate is M B Rajesh and he will be countered by UDF candidate P C Vishnunath. But it would be a cakewalk for Rajesh as the Left Front has 99 members in the Assembly. Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan recorded the first vote.
M B Rajesh is a MLA from Thrithala and P C Vishnunath contested from Kundara.
Voting is progressing inside the House and the result will be known immediately after voting. The House will disperse after the speaker election and will again convene on May 28 for the customary Governor’s policy address.
