SNC-Lavalin case accused Kasturi Ranga Iyer dies

Thiruvananthapuram: Retired KSEB chief engineer Kasturi Ranga Iyer (82), accused in SNC-Lavalin case, passed away on Monday.
Iyer breathed his last at his residence in Karamana in the state capital. His passing came at a time when the apex court postponed the hearing of the Lavalin case for the 38th time last week.
Meanwhile, the CBI had approached the Supreme Court against the acquitting of Pinarayi and others.
Iyer and counterparts had joined the party in a case moved by CBI in the Supreme Court after the Kerala High Court acquitted Pinarayi Vijayan and other accused in 2017.
Iyer is survived by his wife, Thangam Kasturi Ranga Iyer, and three children: Jyothi, Dr. Preethi, and Dr. Maya.
Updation: First copy of the news report wrongly mentioned Iyer as a convict in SNC-Lavalin case. Mathrubhumi deeply regrets for the mistake.
