Thiruvananthapuram: The companies that showed interest in a tender flouted by KSEB over the installation of smart meters in the state have refused to bring down their quotation price.

Polaris Private Limited, a company that attended the tender proceedings, quoted the minimum valuation of Rs 9300 per smart meter, a valuation much higher than Rs 6000 set by the state government. As a result, the government is unlikely to go ahead with the tender proceedings.

Earlier, the government has given time until Saturday for companies to reduce their quotation. However, all three companies which attended the tender refused to lower their valuation.
