Thiruvananthapuram: General Education Department has announced an investigation into the question paper leak in connection with Kerala State Higher Secondary exams for Plus One Mathematics, held on December 12, Thursday.  While speaking to reporters, Education Minister V Sivankutty has said that, a six member committee led by Director, General Education Department will conduct an investigation into the anomalies taken place in connection with the examination.

The committee has been asked to submit their report to the minister within one month after conducting their inquiry. The police also will investigate the incident along with the education department, minister said.

“If there were any faults in connection with the distribution of question papers, it would be corrected.”, he said. “The government will also investigate about the details regarding government teachers taking classes in private tuition centres”, Sivankutty said.

The Kerala State Higher Secondary exams for Plus One Mathematics, held on December 12, were reportedly compromised when a set of 40-mark questions was leaked on a WhatsApp channel. The questions were shared a day before the exam, on Wednesday morning, with minor variations under the title "predicted questions."

The leaked questions, including Numbers 1, 2, 4, 5, 10, 12, 13, 14, and 15, appeared in the exam exactly as they were in the channel. Questions 7 and 19 were shared with slight modifications. Students who accessed the WhatsApp channel on Wednesday found it easier to attempt the exam, while others who were unaware of the leak found the exam more challenging.

According to reports, similar leaks happened in the Chemistry and English exams as well. Both students and teachers have raised concerns over repeated question leaks, attributing them to unauthorised interactions between certain teachers who prepare the questions and those conducting online classes.
