Shahbaz murder: Accused students to write SSLC exams at Vellimadukunnu Juvenile home after protests

Kozhikode: The five students accused of beating and murdering Class 10 student Shahbaz in Thamarassery will write their SSLC exams at the juvenile home in Vellimadukunnu. The incident took place in Thamarassery, where Shahbaz was brutally beaten to death.
Initially, arrangements were made for them to take the exams at their school in Thamarassery. However, concerns over possible protests led to a change in location, and the Kozhikode NGO Quarters School was designated as the exam centre. Later, authorities decided to provide exam facilities at the juvenile home itself.
Several student organisations staged protests on Monday morning in front of the juvenile home, demanding that the accused not be allowed to write the exams. A scuffle broke out between activists of the Kerala Students Union (KSU) and the Muslim Students Federation (MSF), who were part of the protest, and the police. The police then arrested the protesters and removed them from the premises.
Among those arrested by the police were KSU District President V.T. Sooraj, State Committee member Arjun Poonath, and the District General Secretaries of the organisation.
