SFI to strengthen anti-ragging campaign; educate students on their activities

Kollam: The Students Federation of India (SFI) is preparing to renew its image amid recent controversies involving its members.
For the new academic year, SFI plans to take a strict stance against ragging incidents in colleges. The organisation also views its membership distribution campaign as an opportunity to interact with students.
Meanwhile, SFI will intensify campaign against communalism, focusing on activities involving national and global political conditions. To counter accusations of aggression, students will be educated about the martyrs in the organisation.
Anti-ragging programmes will be implemented on all campuses. SFI aims to improve its image by strongly addressing student issues.
Currently, the organisation's activities are not effectively reaching students. Study materials were distributed to many children in tribal areas and other parts of the state, and issues in the education sector were highlighted to the state government. However, these efforts by the SFI leadership have not received proper public attention.
Emphasis will be placed on streamlining the organisation’s activities. Through camps and workshops, students will be educated on various topics. Efforts will also be made to address and correct those who react emotionally and attempt to defame the organisation.
