SDPI activist, accused in murder case of ABVP activist, hacked to death in Kannur

Kannur: An SDPI activist was hacked to death here on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Syed Muhammad Salahuddin. He was the seventh accused in the case relating to the murder of ABVP activist Shyamaprasad in January 2018. Salahuddin was on bail when attacked.

The incident took place on Tuesday evening around 4 pm in Kaichery near Kannavam. Salahuddin was travelling in car with family when a gang followed on bike and rammed into the car. When he stopped the vehicle and came out, he was hacked.

Salahuddin suffered injuries on his neck and was taken to Thalassery cooperative hospital. But he died before arriving at the hospital. The body was then shifted to general hospital here.
