Satheesan at Chennithala’s residence for fresh talks; Home or Finance Department on table?

Thiruvananthapuram: As part of conciliation efforts, Chief Minister-designate V D Satheesan has arrived at the residence of Ramesh Chennithala. Immediately after holding a meeting with IUML (League) leaders at the Cantonment House, V D made an unexpected visit to Chennithala's house in Vazhuthacaud.

Chennithala had not yet taken a final decision regarding joining V D Satheesan's Cabinet. Chennithala had previously informed that he would join the Cabinet only if he was allocated the Home Department portfolio.

This marks the second time V D is meeting Chennithala in an attempt to reconcile. On Friday as well, he had visited the residence to hold direct discussions with Chennithala.

It is now learnt that either the Home Department or the Finance Department may be allocated to him, and talks in this regard are currently underway.
