Sale of Onam Bumper lottery ticket to begin on Monday

Thiruvananthapuram: The Thiruvonam Bumper Lottery ticket will be officially launched by Chief Minister VD Satheesan on Thursday. The launch ceremony will be held at the Chief Minister's Office chamber and will be attended by Additional Chief Secretary (Taxes) KR Jyothilal, Lottery Department Director Anju KS, and other officials.
Ticket sales will commence on Monday.
This year's Thiruvonam Bumper offers the highest prize in the history of the Kerala Lottery Department, with a first prize of ₹30 crore.
The prize structure is as follows:
• First prize: ₹30 crore
• Second prize: ₹1 crore each for 20 winners
• Third prize: ₹25 lakh each for 20 winners
• Fourth prize: ₹5 lakh each for 10 winners
• Fifth prize: ₹2 lakh each for 10 winners
The agent who sells the winning first-prize ticket will receive an agency prize of ₹3 crore.
The ticket is priced at ₹500, and the draw will be held on September 26.
While 90 lakh tickets have been earmarked for distribution to agents, the final number printed will depend on demand.
Buyers have been advised to purchase only printed tickets from licensed agents and not to buy tickets through social media platforms or digital payment links.
