Kannur: The policemen who took the controversial photo at Pathinettampadi in Sabarimala are now facing tough training. These policemen, who are from the State Armed Police (SAP) Thiruvananthapuram camp, took the photos after completing their duties at Sabarimala. They will be undergoing rigorous training at the 4th Battalion Camp of the Kerala Armed Police (KAP) in Mangattuparamba in Kannur. The policemen will undergo training, which is mandatory for all new police recruits, and it will be carried out over 10 working days.

Daily routine
The training begins early each day. The officers will wake up at 5 am, with physical training starting at 6.30 am till 8.30 am. A gun parade follows from 8.45 am, with theoretical classes held from 10 am to 12.30 pm. These classes will cover topics such as legal matters and maintaining law and order.

In the afternoon after lunch, there will be another session of physical training at 3.30 pm, followed by a parade at 5 pm. Afterward, the officers will be allowed time for rest and food. No officer will be permitted to go home or take leave during this intense training period.

Strict supervision
A special trainer, working under the supervision of the KAP Commandant, is in charge of the training. This strict regimen is usually reserved for officers who have repeatedly committed disciplinary violations or engaged in serious misconduct. The violations will be investigated at the departmental level, a report will be submitted, and the case will be closed. Once the matter is resolved, no black marks will be recorded in the officers' service books.

The controversy surrounding the photos taken at Pathinettampadi led the High Court to seek an explanation. The images of the policemen, standing with their backs turned at the sacred site of Pathinettampadi, went viral on social media and caused an uproar. In response, an official report was submitted to the High Court by the ADGP on Thursday.
