Govt decides to make royalty payment for paddy field owners permanent

Kannur: The government has decided to give royalty payment for paddy field owners every year as an incentive to encourage paddy farming. The royalty given will be Rs 2000 per hectare. The order is to make the scheme that was declared in the latest budget permanent. 

The order states that royalty payment is made permanent to ensure food safety and promote environmental protection. This will be provided apart from other subsidies.
