Robber flees upon seeing police during ATM robbery attempt in Irikkur; Investigation underway

Kannur: While thefts continue to be a persistent issue across the state, causing ongoing headaches for the police department, an attempted robbery took place at an ATM counter in Irikkur, a hilly town in Kannur, Kerala.

The incident occurred around 12:30 AM on Monday at the Canara Bank ATM counter in the heart of Irikkur town. According to CCTV footage, the thief, with his face covered, broke into the ATM and attempted to steal cash. The footage was captured by the Canara Bank branch in Delhi, which promptly alerted the police.

Upon noticing the presence of the police, the thief abandoned his robbery attempt and fled the scene.

The suspect has yet to be found, and the Irikkur police have launched an investigation, intensifying search efforts in the locality to track down the culprit.
